A Monessen, Pennsylvania high school art teacher who participated in a racy date with Internet porn star Akira has resigned. Jaison Biagini, a 14-year-teacher at the middle/high school, submitted his resignation for “retirement purposes” last week to school district officials.

The school board accepted his resignation at a Tuesday night meeting. Last month, Biagini won an all-expenses-paid trip to Tampa Bay, Florida after entering a contest sponsored by the “Bubba the Love Sponge” satellite radio show. The prize was a date with the porn star Akira. The date was videotaped.

Biagini said he was “severely offended when I realized how I was being portrayed” by the hosts and he described the date as being “all fake and staged.” According to the state Public School Code, a teacher’s job can be terminated for such reasons as “immorality, incompetency, cruelty, persistent negligence, mental derangement, advocation of, or participating in un-American or subversive doctrines and persistent and willful violation of the school laws of the state.”

Maybe this is a little obvious and a little late, but “school teachers should probably stay away from the BTLS studio.”
